Scotland on Sunday reported yesterday that Gordon Brown’s special advisor, Damian McBride, who resigned in April over the emails smearing Conservatives, is working for the government again behind the scenes.
Downing Street insisted McBride had not returned but party figures are hearing that he is giving off the record press briefings on an unpaid basis.
