There was an interesting piece of information revealed by Sadiq Khan last night, who told a fringe audience that the party will be hiring a “broadcasting expert”. The Shadow Justice Secretary said:
“We’ll hopefully have a broadcasting expert starting shortly as well.
“We need broadcast experience, bearing in mind fewer people buy newspapers.”
If Khan is right, that would address a concern that has been expressed within and about the party. Whilst the party has strong experience in newspapers – Bob Roberts, Tom Baldwin and now Patrick Hennessy – but there’s less experience in broadcast. That’s something which needs to be addressed.
