Shortlist for Edmonton selection announced

Labour have announced their shortlist for Edmonton, as current MP Andy Love is stepping down at the next general election.

Of the 108 people who put their name forwards as part of this open selection to be on the shortlist, three women were chosen – all of whom identify as being from a black, asian or minority ethnic backgrounds. They are:

  • Ayfer Orhan, who is a councillor in Enfield and Cabinet Member for Education
  • Kate Anolue, former Enfield Mayor, who’s currently a councillor in the borough
  • Kate Osamor, GP practice manager in Enfield and constituency representative at the National Executive Committee

The person who’s chosen to be Labour’s candidate will be announced on 21st February.
