Norway, and the unspeakable cowardice of terrorism

By Mark Ferguson / @markfergusonuk

I’m just catching up with the horrific and unfolding events in Norway this evening. It’s impossible to convey the horror of what has happened, or the magnitude of what the Norwegian people are facing tonight. To blow up a building, and to open fire on innocent and defenceless young people merely serves to remind us of the unspeakable cowardice of terrorism.

Such an attack can acheive nothing of any worth, and has no justification.

Speaking this evening, Ed Miliband said:

I’m horrified by events in Norway. These senseless acts are an affront to decent people everywhere. All my thoughts are with the Norwegian people.”

The thoughts of everyone associated with LabourList – and the Labour Party as a whole – are with the people of Norway this evening, and the Norwegian Labour Party.
