UPDATE: Less than hour after we published this story, Lord Ahmad has been promoted:
Who whips the whips? Usually, when a politician gets caught slagging off their own own leader, they get marched into their party’s whips’ office for a dressing down.
So what will happen to Tory whip Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, who was overheard rubbishing Cameron’s major reshuffle as “chaos” this morning?
And what does he think was so bad about the ‘reshuffle for women’? Well, he’s not impressed by new Treasury minister Priti Patel: she’s “inexperienced” and just a “PR girl”, apparently.
We guess new Chief Whip Michael Gove just got his first task.
